the space within us all

We officially started school this week.  A little overwhelmed, but excited non the less!
First class abroad: Beginning Italian. What happened? Our teacher spoke to us in Italian the whole time; go figure.  A little terrified at first, but after a while it ended up not being so terrible.  I'll definitely learn the language this way!
Today launched the beginning of my photography career, hah well that would be cool anyway.  But really, I had Digital Photography today; a five and a half hour class.  We spent three of the hours walking around the city with our rather hilarious teacher who I'm stoked about.  He basically just showed us tips while we shot whatever and whomever we chose. The class will be a good time for sure.
I've decided I am going to be more artistic with my life.  No promises on what I'll be looking/dressing/eating/living like when I return home.

The rain hasn't stopped for 4 days now I think; not so bad anymore.
..And tomorrow may rain, so I'll follow the sun.

This weekend, the whole month of February actually, is the big Carnival in Venice; but they have a smaller/kind of lesser known one in Viareggio.  It's a city by the coast and we booked a hostel and train tickets.  Let the adventures begin.

Rome the following weekend? Happy birthday to Shelley.

Tonight I roamed the streets of Florence in sweatpants, no make-up, and wet hair because my roommates and neighbors decided the brilliant idea to get gelato 4 seconds after I got out of the shower.  Not a sight many would appreciate, but I can't say it wasn't freeing.  I'm just praying for no pneumonia now, ha.

This is still the time of my life and I am finding everything more beautiful every day.  The streets and alleys are becoming more familiar, so little Firenze feels more like a home now than a vacation.

Classes will be a challenge but super rewarding I'm sure; just like everything else that's a little more difficult than you imagined.
The beauty of not knowing what to expect keeps me excited and anxious to start each morning.
